TMS Treatment Cost
For all patients at TMS Erina we tailor the treatment protocol to your specific needs. Treatment courses range between 20 to 35 treatments depending on the condition we are treating. Each treatment session is approximately 20 minutes in duration.
As of 1 November 2021, Medicare will provide a rebate for TMS provided the eligibility criteria is met.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? 
COSTS
After recognising the benefits of TMS for treatment-resistant depression, Medicare is now funding TMS treatment for depression, with these restrictions:
You have not had TMS treatment before
You are over 18 years of age
You have tried 2 or more antidepressants and they have not worked, or have been intolerable due to side effects
If these apply you are likely to be eligible for bulk billed TMS treatment
*Exclusions apply for certain medical conditions
The following services are fully bulk billed:
- Initial Psychiatric TMS Assessment
- Initial TMS treatment course (35 Sessions)
- Maintenance course (15 Sessions)
Self-funding costs
For those who do not meet the Medicare criteria, prices range from $100-$145 per session.
NB: Treatment approvals can be requested for Worker’s Compensation/CTP and DVA patients

Patients who have their medical expenses covered by The Department of Veterans Affairs or Workcover are often able to have the cost of TMS covered.
